Taiwan Medical Masks, Pre-Order, Pay at the Annual Meeting 08-24-2020

It also encourages Taiwanese folks to actively participate in the 2020 online annual meeting of the Canada Taiwan Association. A Day of Mourning 08-10-2020
Former President Lee Teng-hui passed away on the evening of July 30, 2020, at the age of 98. The Toronto office and the Cultural and Educational Center has offered their deepest condolences to the passing of former President Lee, and a memorial venue was set up in the Art and Literature Hall of the Cultural and Educational Center to express condolences and remembrance to the former President Lee for helping our overseas friends from all walks of life. The memorial venue will be open from now until August 16 (Sunday), from 10 am to 4 pm every day (except on Tuesdays and national holidays). There is an autograph book for condolencers to sign and leave messages, and works related to former President Lee for the public to read. In addition, due to the epidemic situation, the people present must abide by the current social distancing regulations. Former President Lee served as President of the Republic of China from 1988 to 2000, and became the first president directly elected by the people of Taiwan in 1996. He has made historic contributions to Taiwan's democratic transformation and the consolidation of Taiwan's democratic government. Former President Lee completed the amendment of the constitution during his tenure and promoted the full re-election of the National Assembly and the direct election of the president. Under the leadership of President Lee, Taiwan has successfully transformed into a model of Asian democracy, and former President Lee has been hailed as "Mr. Democracy."

Busy at work! 08-10-2020
FESCC has been busily working and making sure to do our part to help fight the COVID-19 virus. Through our community, we've been able to raise nearly $100,000 for new medical equipment for all hospitals around Toronto. This includes surgical masks, face shields, scrubs, and other equipment essential for our front line workers. We're happy to have been able to help all those working at Mackay Memorial hospital, Markham Stouffville Hospital, and every other hospital in Toronto and the GTA. Thank you to our dedicated Taiwanese community and all those who have donated! We could not have done this without you.
